  • Please read the following for the upcoming i-Ready testing. i-Ready reading and math test must be completed by December, 11. Thank you for your continued support in your child's education. 
    • Step 1: Watch the following video to get an understanding of what the i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment is and what your role is as a parent.  Click Here for video
    • Step 2: Login to the Clever website. 
      • Username: Student ID#
      • Password: MMDDYYYY (Birthday)
    • Step 3: Click on the i-Ready icon
    • Step 4: Click on the Reading button to start the assessment.  When complete, stop and continue to the math assessment. Do not continue on with the reading lessons.
    • Reminders: 
      • Have your child take breaks every 15-20 minutes.
      • Tell your child to try their best.
      • Do not help your child with reading or answering the problems, let them do it on their own.  If the test does not read the text for your child, they are expected to read it on their own. The test provides a mix of easy and difficult problems for your child to answer. If you help them with the difficult problems, the test will later assign your child with lessons that are too difficult for them to complete independently.  
      • Don't rush, take your time.

  • Schedule Changes: Social Emotional Learning will now be on Mondays and PE will be on Thursdays.  PE will be virtually taught by our PE teacher Mr. Ching! The link will be provided on the Daily Task schedule every Thursday.  PE class will be from 1:00-1:40.

  • Today is the first day of Parent Teacher Conferences. School ends at 1:00.
  • Tomorrow is the last day to get your child's name entered into the drawing for turning in the Federal Survey Card and MVI Form.

  • Deadline for Federal Survey Cards and MV1 forms have been extended to Wednesday, October 21 by 3:00pm to the school's office.  Students who turn their forms in by that time will get their name entered into a drawing for a $50.00 gift card!  Good luck!

  • Federal Survey Cards and MV1 forms have been mailed out by the school. Families that complete both forms and drop it off at the school office by Friday, October 16, 2020 before 3:00pm will have their child's name entered into a drawing for a $50.00 gift card.

    • MyOn cannot be accessed at this time.  The school's license for this program has expired. 
    • Acellus has been cancelled and will no longer be used by our school.

  • Testing Week! Please check with your child's teacher for their test date and time.   You will also be able to pick up the next math packets when your child comes in for testing.  For those who are doing virtual testing, please stop by your child's classroom between 12:00-2:00 to pick up their math packets.

  • Aloha First Grade Families, 
            Starting this week, we will be administering tests for your child that will take up to 10 minutes.   The test will be conducted in your child’s classroom, scheduled by their teacher.  We will practice safety procedures when testing your child in person so that we can ensure accurate test scores. When your child comes for testing, you will also pick up their new Math packet.  
             Please let your teacher know if you would like a virtual option.  However, you will still need to pick up your child’s Math packet by Friday, Sept. 18th, from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm.

  • After working through some technical problems we encountered yesterday, we were able to get some of you on to Google Meets.  Today will be the first day of online virtual teaching.  Teachers will go over online rules and expectation. You and your classmates will be sharing your All About Me posters.  If you did not complete your poster, don't worry, you will share yours on another day.

  • For those who did not pick up their school supplies on Friday, please contact your teacher to arrange a time for pick up on Monday or Tuesday.  They will need their supplies for their online learning starting on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

  • First grade will be having a supply pick up on Friday, August 28 between 8:00-11:00am.  Please stop by your child's classroom to pick up their supplies.  If you haven't signed your child's Student Publication/Audio/Video Release Form, please do so at the time of the pickup.  The form must be signed in order for child to participate in online teaching.

  • ​Aloha Families!  Starting today all students at Maili Elementary School will begin their i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment.  They will have 3 days to complete a reading and math assessment.  Carefully follow the steps below to help your child complete these important assessments.

  • The first grade teachers want to give a "shout out" to all of our wonderful students and their families.  Thank you for working with us through the first week of school.  We know it was a bit rough with online learning, but we appreciate your patience and support.   Also, great job doing your daily attendance!  We have almost 100% of the grade level completing their daily attendance form!  You are awesome!
  • There have been new updates to our Daily Task page.  We have added a "suggested' daily schedule that is similar to our school schedule.  Please add breaks in between subjects as needed.  We will be adding different activities and resources to give the students a break from Acellus.  Not everything on the schedule is required, but it will help to support your child in their education. 
  • Upcoming news: iready online testing will begin on Monday, August 24-26. Please check back Monday morning for more information.
  • No school Friday, August 21, 2020: Statehood Day.  Have a great weekend!

  • After encountering a few problems with the Acellus program we have decided for this week to have your child focus on 20-30 minutes of each subject daily.  Please take breaks in between as needed.  We are currently working on creating a suggested daily schedule to help structure your child's academic learning and will have it up by Thursday.   • Welcome to the new school year!  We are looking forward to working with you and your child in furthering their education.  Please take a look around and familiarize yourself with our grade level website.  You can click here to access a video tutorial on our website.
  • School will begin online on Monday, August 17, 2020.  No work packets will be provided.
  • Please click on the Login Information tab on the top to learn how to log on to the online Acellus program.
  • Practice with your child on how to do their daily attendance by clicking on the Daily Attendance link in Daily Tasks tab.  They will have to do this daily to show they are present for school.
